Not windsurfing related , except that two of the committee will be playing…
If you like to support live music from local bands, and local charities, head down to the Boat Club at Trentside Sat Oct 22nd.
3 local bands are playing a one night gig to raise funds for Maggie’s Cancer Centres.
Maggie’s Centres are for anyone affected by cancer. They are places where people at any stage of cancer are welcome; from just being diagnosed, or undergoing treatment, to post-treatment, recurrence, end of life or in bereavement.
Friends and family who love or look after someone with cancer are welcome too.
The new Maggie’s centre in Nottingham is a £3 million pound project being built at the City Hospital Campus.
The new Centre opens Wednesday 2 November 2011. The funds raised will help towards getting the centre open and free of charge for anyone who needs it.
The music at the Boat Club on the Saturday night will be provided by 3 local bands, 2 of which were formed after entering into the Weekend Warriors programme, organised by Guitar Base of West Bridgford.
The Vordermen are the first band of the night, a young group of local guys playing their own compositions.
Fear Project are next on the bill, with an interesting mix of Indie-rock and pop classics.
Last but not least are Indigo Reef, supplying a healthy dose of Rock and Blues classics.
Tickets are £4 on the door, with all proceeds going to the deserving Maggie’s project.
We hope to see you there on the night, or if you can’t make it, but would still like to support us, perhaps you would like to consider making a donation using the widget below (click the little donate button).
